Knysna Bull MTB 2020
The Knysna Bull Mountain Bike race is one of the favourite sporting fixtures each year for locals and visitors alike. In 2020, the race is set to take place from 19-22 February and entries are already hotly contested. So, what is the Knysna Bull and why should you get involved?
What is the Knysna Bull?
The Bull is South Africa’s only individual staged mountain bike race and takes place over 4 days. Each stage consists of 60-70kms of varying terrain built to test strength and endurance – this is not a race to trifle with!
59kms and 1220m of climbing away those brave enough to take on Stage 1. There is also a 100m Maxxis Enduro segment included 35.5kms into the race which is truly anyone’s game.
On day two riders hit the Harkerville forest routes to pack another 60kms under their belt. This time the Maxxis Enduro will last for 1.8kms and occur just under 12kms before the finish.
The third and final stage will see riders seeded from the start as they prepare to tackle some of Knysna’s finest trails before reaching the finish at Simola Golf Estate.

Each stage ends at the Knysna Waterfront where riders get to enjoy meals from five of the best local restaurants – all of which is included in the entry package. On the final evening, participants will get together for a celebratory finishers meal with a live band and prize giving. The full schedule breakdown can be viewed here.
