Knysna Oyster Festival 2023

The 2023 Knysna Oyster Festival kicks off 30 June and runs until 9 July 2023. Celebrating its 40th year this year, the 2023 programme is bursting with exciting events including wine tastings, oyster parties, padel tournaments, trail runs and after parties!

We’re dishing all the details on this year’s hottest events not to be missed below.

30 June to 2 July | Knysna Cycle Tour

The annual Knysna Cycle Tour is often the highlight of the Knysna Oyster Festival. This two-day MTB event takes place from 30 June to 2 July with exciting new routes this year!

Event Registration is on 30 June 2023 at Knysna High School Fields from 11h00 to 18h00 and there will be stalls and activities at the field.

2 July 2023 | Sea2Tower Reversed

The Sea2Tower is being reversed for July 2023. Runners will start their journey at Buffelsnek Fire Tower and wind their way through the Knysna Forest and back down to Knysna.

The route promises to be challenging, yet beautiful with spectacular views over the surrounding forest, mountains and valleys. With 4 routes to choose from, the S2T offers a variety of distances that cater for most fitness levels.

3 to 7 July 2023 | LivPadel Tournament at Knysna Hollow

Two brand new padel courts at Knysna Hollow will host the inaugural LivPadel Tournament at this year’s Knysna Oyster Festival.

Join us for 3 different tournaments and coaching catering for all ages ranging from Intermediate and advanced levels.

7 July 2023 | Oyster Better Ball Championship

Knysna Golf Club in partnership with Red Bridge Brewing Co. proudly presents the 2023 Oyster Better Ball Championship. Get together and enjoy a day of golf at one of the Garden Route’s finest facilities – Knysna Golf Club for a game of better ball taking place on Friday, 7 July 2023.

7 July 2023 | Knysna Wine Festival

The Knysna Wine Festival takes center stage as the ultimate platform for celebrating local wines during the annual Knysna Oyster Festival.

Drawing in hundreds of wine enthusiasts, this splendid festival offers the opportunity to savour over 200 wines from more than 50 diverse wine estates. Whether you’re a seasoned wine connoisseur or a weekend wine lover, you’ll relish in the chance to sample a wide range of wines and craft liquors hailing from the Cape Winelands and Garden Route regions.

8 July 2023 | Knysna Forest Marathon

The Knysna Forest Marathon presents an array of extraordinary features that distinguish it from any other trail run in the world. As its name suggests, the majority of the course delves deep into the enchanting Knysna Forest, treating participants to awe-inspiring vistas of the estuary and the iconic Knysna Heads. These captivating sights serve as a welcome distraction, motivating and inspiring runners during those final kilometers.
