However, there is a class of activities reserved for those who like to take their outdoor recreation a little further – to the point where heart rates climb and adrenaline skyrockets!

Things To Do Around Knysna: Adrenaline Activities

1. Bungee Jumping at Bloukrans Bridge

Activity: Bungee Jumping
Location: Bloukrans Bridge, N2 between Nature’s Valley and Storms River
Distance from Knysna: 45 km

Forget South Africa, Bloukrans Bridge (216 m) is the highest commercially-operated bungee jump in the world!

Like the bungee jump off of Victoria Falls Bridge in Zimbabwe, Bloukrans has gathered equal renown for its beauty, dizzying heights and the monumental rush jumpers feel after conquering their fears!

The sheer height and breathtaking views over the Bloukrans River Gorge below the bridge amplify the intensity of the jump, making it (according to those who know) one of the world’s most scenic bungee jumps.

There are many wonderful activities for you to try in the Tsitsikamma National Park, many of which revolve around the Storms River. They can be mild or wild, depending on your preference, but we love the thrill and fun of a tubing adventure, where the river’s current carries you downstream between sheer gorges, fern-covered riverbanks and the most pristine wilderness you will ever see!

This activity includes swimming, rock jumping and a bit of hiking. Depending on the time of year (the most popular months are September to April), this experience could range from kloofing-heavy to whitewater tubing.
